I have a 2 yr old child that I need to baptize. I've been divorced 10 yrs, my marriage is not anulled. I am a non-practicing catholic and am now a single parent, hold all legal rights, am not with the baby's father but we are civil.. I need to get this done for peace of mind, quickly and quietly if possible and do not wish to choose godparents at this time. Can this be done with just myself and the baby there and without choosing godparents? I have reservations about the catholic religion, this is why I have waited so long but I think about this often and time is ticking away. Regardless, the baptism needs to happen..

1Jo 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

So, does this mean to God that if you HATE your neighbor, brother, sister, parent(s), boss, etc...
That he feels HATRED is EQUAL to MURDER???

what is your understanding of this Verse in 1John

Also there is this:
3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

can we forget everything we've been taught about how the church is supposed to be? shatter our ideas of what a church is. we need to be barbaric for Christ. we need to rekindle our flames and have a passion for God.

be real with God. if you're real with Him, He'll be real with you. we also need to humble ourselves or He'll humble us Himself.

Most people just post lengthy passages from the scriptures, like the one where Jesus swallowed the puzzle piece and the man in the yellow hat had to take him to the hospital.

It would be cool if someone could just copy and paste the entire Bible, then they could just use it as an all purpose answer.
