If your emotions and personality are proof of a "soul" then how come when your brain is damaged or your on drugs, your personality and emotions change? People always say that the complexity of emotions and everyones different personality is proof of a unique eternal soul, but then how come they can be altered by damage to the brain or chemicals from drugs? Doesnt that tell you that it all has to do with your brain so wouldnt the conclusion be that ifthe brain is dead than you dont exist anymore? And also, near death experiences have been proven to be delirium and hallucinations associated with a dying brain and they were also able to create experiences similar to near death experiences by using the drug ketamine so thats not proof either. So what proof is there of a soul or an afterlife? There is none for or against one but right now the logical thing is to assume there isnt one

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. John 3: 8 (NIV)

How would you personally interpret this verse? I have my own thoughts, but I would like to read some of yours.

I believe in God but I often wonder why there is no science behind it.There is no real proof and there is no real evidence. Some might say that proof and evidence is the fact that we are here and the bible is evidence as to why.But this is not science. This is mere belief without factual proof beyond faith. It is like believing that the boogey man is real...Afterall, when we are kids we believe in him or it and many of us look under the bed for this monster of the night.Or how about vampires? There is stories of vampires that date back centuries. Why no bodies of any of them?

We can study biology and we can carbon date things. We can fly to the moon and study rocks from Mars.We can even change the biological makeup of a cell. But in all this, why can't we prove that God exists if he really does?Where is the proof?

I believe that until there is solid proof there never will be a true interpretaion of something you can't even prove. You?

With that in mind my friend, now imagine the number of millionaires that make up some of that population number thing. Heaps of people with lots of money hey? Now ask yourself why do we have the starving and the homeless, all those people who are in a deeper poo river than those that make up the richies. OK, My point or question or gripe is why don't all those really f**ken well off la dee dah millionaire folk donate a cool 100 thou each and fix up this place that we call 'earth' and prolong it's life and future so all of our kids and future generations can live a beautiful and peaceful life.

Obviously they didn't for a reason. Yet some religious people here want to shove more religion into government in the name of the Founding Fathers who they claim were oh so very religious and Christian. The Founding Fathers already discussed this point, realized the danger, and said heck no. Do you understand that?

At different times, your girlfriend and your MALE best friend asked you if they could TICKLE the SOLES of your BAREFEET, would you let them? Would you just let one of them? Neither of them?

Would you be reluctant, or would you take off your shoes and socks and tell them to go for it?

Why would it be different if your girlfriend asked then if your best friend asked?

How old are you? Do you have any experiences you want to share?

Thanks for your input!

I was watching "spooked: Ghosts at Waverly Hills" and someone said there was a small, stumpy-looking monster at Waverly Hills that is supposed to resemble a demon of some sort. It is seen on the grounds around the hospital. I was searching all over the internet for topics about that but could not find one. Does anybody know anything about it?

I ask because three of us took a lift with a guy we know, but not well, and one person hogged the best seat both going there & coming back. Two of us would always swap over and offer the seat to others on the way back (2-hr trip). My neighbour says no way, she'd make a point of getting the good seat again. So now we are wondering were they rude to hop in front again, or not? Doesn't everyone switch around? Or not? LOL, the hogger was someone the driver didn't want to give a lift to anyway1
