I choose moving from the country to the city. If you have done this can you answer the following questions? Thank you for your time! 1. Where did you move from/to? 2. List the top 3 things that put you in shock from moving to the city. 3. List 3 positive things that have happened to you since your move. 4. List 3 negative things that have happened since your move. 5. Would you like to move back to the country or do you now prefer city life? 6. Is there anything else about city life you would like to share? Thanks Again!!!

I moved to Abilene, TX. I moved back to a small town in Wisconsin.

3 shocking-
The Culture
The Speed at which everything moved- it was so much more fast paced living.
People- much snobbier.

3 positive-
Everything within driving distance
more to see and do
More opportunities with jobs

3 negative-
Less family, less privacy
more noise and pollution
More expectations on your way of living

I moved back to be by my family but also because of the privacy issue. I like to do my own thing and be in a more comfortable setting. Something more familiar.

Good luck with your essay.

1) I moved from South Carolina to Louisiana. 2) The city has much higher prices, the city is much more bigger, and the city is a lot more busier. 3) I get to meet new people, more things to go out and do, and more shopping. 4) I miss my friends and family, learning to live in a new lifestyle, and getting to learn the city life. 5) I would like to move back to the country because its a much slower moving life and much more calmer. 6) No, there is nothing else I would like to share about city life. Your welcome!!!

I don't fit the profile of your question exactly so I'll just give you these insights that I've gained over the years.

Downside of city life:

More traffic and crime. Less sense of true community fellowship because of the vast number of people. More noise and air pollution. Less places where a person can go to be alone and view God's creation in peace.

Upside of city life:

More employment opportunities. More entertainment venues. More opportunities to meet a variety of people and broaden one's perspectives. More educational options. Usually better hospital and emergency services although that isn't always true.

1) Shreveport/Bossier City Area to Lafayette Louisiana
2) Climate much hotter, More Traffic, hurricanes
3) Met a Cajun man and married him, became foster parents with the State Of Louisiana, Got a fantastic job with great pay
4) Hurricane Lilly, Katrina, Rita, children readjusting to new schools, and expensive to live.
5) I so want to move back to the old country life, you have more peace and quiet, don't have to worry about your children as much, and schools are more personal with the parents.
6) I do like being close to malls, restaurants, and other nite life. We don't have to drive as far, there is public transportation if needed, closer to work, closer to my family.
