People take things for granted everyday including myself. I just wanted to ask this question to get people to open their eyes and pay attention to the small details of everyday life. Since temporarily losing my sight for a couple of weeks, I have started to pay attention to the smallest of details from the colors that my daughter uses in her coloring books to the way her eyes twitch in her sleep every 7 seconds.

People rarely believe me when I say that I have no friends.

Good friends I used to have all moved far away, immediately after graduation. Some went into the military, others went off to college and ended up getting married, having kids, careers, etc. That's just life. People drift apart.

I don't have any friends at all. I haven't for a long time. I have some acquaintances, but that's as far as it goes. I don't have anyone I can call up and chit chat or hang out with or anything like that. It's very difficult to meet new people.

Why is this so difficult for people to believe? Is it that unusual?

I remeber being new in High School(i moved a lot so this was an often thing:) at lunch and watching all the groups. As in the jocks, the popular rich kids, the rednecks, the weird nerds, the normal nerds(theres a difference), And of course the "gangsters". Why do people find it necessary to find a group and just stay there and change themselves to fit in. Its beginning to seem like individuality is fading in america. Now that I'm out I am still noticing this among my peers. Whats the deal?

This is not a racist question but a multicultural one. I have met many people from various backgrounds. indo-europeans, italian americans, afro americans, chino europeans etc. however i have never met a black japanese person. I am lead to believe that the japanese are not very multi cultural and therefore it is hard to be accepted into their families. therefore as there are no endogenous black people to the islands of japan, does this cultural group exist?

The longer the answer the better, because i'm writing an essay on this topic for my sociology class and I do not know much about what to write...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

About the question, we're supposed to examine the similarities & differences between the two.
