I once to an officer my child was very ill and we were rushing to the hospital. He let me go with a warning. I was actually on my way to see a doctor but it was an appointment.

Sociology tells us that men rape because they want power over the girl. Their strongest example is when they point to some rapists who rape elderly women. I'm sure this argument is true for a few rapists, but is it true for the majority?

I cannot bring myself to believe that the majority of rapes are from men seeking power rather than sex. Being a male myself, I can tell you that if I were to rape someone, it would be because I want to have sex with a really hot girl, not because I want to dominate some 85 year old.

our neighbor has made our lives a living hell for the 3 months we have lived in this apartment complex... she calls the police at every possible excuse (spouse and i have an argument; the kids laughing or screaming in fun; dog barks a few times in excitement... such things are twisted by this neighbor to sound like wife-bashing or child abuse or animal abuse... but the cops come just to check it out and always leave without making any arrests... but all this is obviously a pain... so, we are MOVING OUT - the only way we will get peace... but my sense of justice won't leave it alone at that... is that wrong?

Seriously people, Jews were enslaved thousands of years before blacks and longer AND the Holocaust! So why do they call Jewish people white and racist? Jews don't even have their own themed months like the blacks do! WTF?

I know that black people have been hindered by the effects of slavery and from decades of suppression and discrimination.That surely explains why blacks were not getting the same quality education as whites. But some studies seem to show differences between the two races that could not be explained away easily by sociological differences in education and level of poverty.
And well, to be honest (and racist, I guess) to me some of the differences seem to be innate. For goodness sake, look at the ratio of blacks to whites in proffesional baseball, basketball, and football. It is a lot higher than the ratio of blacks to whites in regards to the U.S. population. If blacks can be a little more physically atheletic on average, why can't whites be a little smarter on average?

im a 22/m/white. i have an urban style and look. i was an army brat and lived in mostly northern cities. i lived around everyone and didn't really see "race" as civilian ppl see it. i wear baggy jeans-but they dont be saggin, tims, j's, have a fade haircut, and have diamonds in my ears. for some reason white girls seem to have a kinda negative reaction to me. they seem to be acting cautious or nervous. i'm not gangsta though. i'm a psych sr in college. im going to be a juve delinq counselor. i work 40 hrs a week. i don't get it. im a cool guy who loves to clown around n gets along with everyone. but like when i just try and talk to them at school they have this bad reaction. its like they got something against me. its like they judge me from the onset. i just don't understand. why this is?

am confused by all the hub-bub about giving a child a well-deserved spanking as a method of parental discipline. I gave my 7 year old one fat wallop to his buttocks for ignoring my and his father's command that he stop playing and go to sleep. The command was given at 10pm, 12 pm and finally at 3am! We waited til the morning to admister the wallop to the bottom. My neighbor accused us of child abuse and called the cops. Am I notteaching the child to respect and obey authority (like the police) by disciplining him? Whta's going on in this world?
Oh, the police officers the neighbor sent to enforce his particular values on us carried guns... but since they could not find a mark on the child, went away a bit disappointed that they could'nt make an arrest. This has outraged me.

Are they just going to leave it there as a big deep hole in the ground - or are they actually going to do something with it ?

It is unlike the ''lets do it'' race to procastinate and leave something undone for so long!

Why don't they just make the damn place into a nice park - maybe just for a change a different shape from a bloody square or rectangle ?

Let some of the water in from Hudson river and make a boating lake or something - and as big an adventure playground as the site will allow ?
