I am in college, and i'm looking for a friendly place to live in the US. Does it really matter where you live? Are people the same everywhere, and when I am out od college, where would be a good place to live?

I think it depends on where you are from and what your frame of reference is. I love the Northeast... I love NYC... but I am from here.

I liked living in the Appalachian region (East TN, KY, WV, VA, west NC), everyone is SO friendly... even though I was an outsider. It really depends on your background. Go with what you are comfortable with.

I didn't really like it out west... to be honest.

You'll find great people and horrible people everywhere you go. It's like the "bad part of town" - there's one in every bunch. Go somewhere that is interesting to you, has scholarship and activities that get you involved, and that you feel comfortable at. You'll have friends whever you end up; no worries!
