Don't feel stupid, it's perfectly normal to be afraid to venture out on your own no matter how old you are. You're human, and change is scary. But if you really want to achieve independence, then you've gotta take that first step...maybe look into renting a room in home with another family as a first step, you wont be alone but you'll be out of your own comfort zone and learning how to be responsible for yourself. You can do it if you set your mind to it. Good luck!

Don't feel dumb. You'll only be successful at school if you feel confident and comfortable.

I think it's a good thing to leave home as the period in your life is about a lot more than just the classes at college. It's about finding yourself, learning to fend for yourself, gaining independence, thinking for yourself... cooking for yourself... learning how to manage you time effectively. College is a load of life lessons clumped in with classes you get actual credit for.

Don't let the fear keep you home but also, don't set out if you know you aren't ready. It'll be a self-fufilling prophecy.

Going out on your own the first time is pretty scary, and I know I felt pretty unprepared when I did. But I did all right, even if I never got rich.

Go ahead and try. You'll be fine.
