Are they just going to leave it there as a big deep hole in the ground - or are they actually going to do something with it ?
It is unlike the ''lets do it'' race to procastinate and leave something undone for so long!
Why don't they just make the damn place into a nice park - maybe just for a change a different shape from a bloody square or rectangle ?
Let some of the water in from Hudson river and make a boating lake or something - and as big an adventure playground as the site will allow ?
If there's no building to blow up - it can't be blown up can it ?
Oh silly me ! Three school shootings in a week - what am I thinking - someone will come in and shoot the kids won't they ?
After all having a gun is part of their constitution isn't it ?

I've just had a great idea what they could do with the old site - relocate the Guantanamo Bay facility there - then Americans could come and gorp and at all those nasty terrists - well that's how Bush pronounces it - and who am I to argue with him - what's in a syllable anyway !
The word CHILDREN springs to mind !

if they bring the GB facility down here... how can they torture them then?
if they make it a park, then the crime rate for New York city will double (since they already have a Central park)...
if they make it a school, that's still a problem bcos then the white people (students and adults) will be barging in every now and then... thats more killings....
and then they talk about illegal immigrants.... how many times have you heard an amigo entered a school and shot kids, the future of this great country... ZERO....
americans have problems psychologically and mentally and are more depressed than asians, south americans combined....

I saw those huge blue wooden planks surrounding the site for a couple of years as I drove my brother in law to the hospital on the upper West Side. I kept hoping they would start to reconstruct soon. The problem there is you have many different groups each voicing loudly their opinions on what to build there. From what I hear they started to work on the foundation, but it seems the project so far is not in full gear. I just wish they start building, everytime I see those wooden planks I get depressed.

they are going to rebuild and be called the freedom tower. i believe construction is supposed to begin next year sometime. do a google search for "new world trade center design"
