Given by how obvious people feel about this free form of great therapy in getting rid of thier frustrations by asking and answering questions here in yahoo Q&A, should pyschiatrists and pyschologists start to worry about a loss of future income?

Isn't CBT in its basic form a writing exercise of what p-d you off in the negative column(ie the question) then the turn around in what you could have chosen to think about to cheer you up in the positive column (ie the answer), and the BEST bit.. the end of session (I presume) encouragement comment (ie Recieiving the Best answer to a question you have answered)?

Start downsizing guys... lol

As you know , we are getting less tolerant to others, we are a few that can be patient and try to keep it up......

But we also have people that for someway live life all around in hate......If you help those people to be more positive around life , you are making a progress in changin someone else life.....

The mannerisms, speach, personality, it all seems a show 99% of the time. I identify better with people that have issues, not that I have any right now, but I have dealt with some major BS in my life.

As we know parents always have the main role in the child's life and they are always influenced by their parents in many things. Therefore if the parents relationship is unhealthy and they always quarell, don't get along well with eachother, ahve fights etc. the child may not understand the motives and meaning behind theiir parents behaviour though he will follow his parents foot steps blindly and will not be able to relate well with others and his social behaviour will also be negatively affected.

this wednesday i have to do a senior presentation, and im so nervous, ive never been so nervous in my life, feel like throwin up every time i think of doin the presentation. i had a bad experience once, i was new to a class and the teacher made me present somethin i didnt know about, and i didnt know what to say, so my voice craked,i started getin red, i started sweating, and then i started shaking and everybody noticed! i was so embarrassed, since then everytime we have to do a presentation, i try to be the one that just holds the poster and try not to talk, and when i do, even if i say one word my voice cracks, and what really worries me about the next presentation is that the oral speech has to be 5 minutes long! i know this is nothin for some people, but for me its like 5 hours, ive tried peoples advices about practici, and thinkin about the audiences underwear, but im still so nervous! i think that i jus need to forget about that bad experience that i had but i dunno, please help!

After a bad fall out with someone i thought was my best friend, i ended up having some counselling months later when i sort of fell to bits, couldn't cope, then i was questioning everything and everyone, other friends new people i was meeting even my family, i ended up having a couple more months counselling because i felt so confused and now i'm not sure what to do.....

Part of me wants to find out more about how the mind works, (I was recommended a few books, counselling/physchology which i read) and the other part of me wants to be like i used to be, some people have said that i've changed, i'm too serious and cant take a joke any more, (by some people my mum,dad and brother) sometimes i would agree and sometimes not.....

i'm still confused as you might be able to tell, i'd appreciate any advise if maybe you've been in a similar position or maybe just know what you're talking about.

Recently I have been feeling very bitter. The friends I use to hang out with never call me back. I will note that we live in seperate cities but does it really hurt to call a person back? In addition a job I was really looking forward to starting fell through. It was one that could help get my life and career on to a running start. I realize that this won't matter in a few years and there are others far worse then me. However, these events have lately really bothered me. Help what should I do?

I was with him for 2 yrs & didnt know until a year later. He persisted a realtionship with me & I fell for him &right at the height of our relationship he decided to meet his daughter & I supported him, I always did,I helped him alot. Anhow, when we were together I know he cared, but when he met his daughter, the mother of the child put out all she had to win him and it worked. Especially the whole mother and child thing and he wasn't there for 2 yrs. ANyhow, Ifound out the truth and he became very cold to me and defended her!! A few months later he found out she lied about her childhood, that she was raped, molested. WE talked for 20 minutes &then he stopped talking to me altogehter.I forgave him and wanted to be friends,I know he was very confused. But I sent him an email & he deleted it & then told me we should not talk anymore!?I forgave him &he walked all over it why? Is he ashamed?Unfortantly thru out all this,I found out more lies he told me, but I think he was emabarrased.

"Live in the Moment" might even be too strong of a phrase. I just want to appreciate my life now instead of looking forward and wanting something that I'll have in the future. Such as: I can't wait to graduate college (but I have 1 year left), I can't wait to get engaged, get married, have a job, have kids, etc. But I know that when I get engaged I'll want to be married and when I'm married I'll want kids... I want to stop this horrible cycle I've gotten myself into! What can I do to enjoy my life and not worry, plan, or be too excited about the future? How can I put my goals in their place and quit trying to rush things? Thanks

I went to a dating site and made two dummy profiles, each with the same traits; twist here is I put that one of them was a divorced woman living in an apartment and the other was a widow with her house paid off. Both had no pictures and guess what? I waited two weeks for the results and the divorced woman had only 1 "interest" (someone who adds them to a fave list, I think) while the widow had -you guessed it- 4. Truly disgusting. I did it on matchmaker.com and the two profiles are Gabrielle69love and Estella95.

UPDATE: I think one of them figured it out and pulled out.
