Ben Franklin tried to lead his life, checking himself before others had to with a list of 13 virtues. He placed each one of the virtues on a separate page in a small book that he kept with him for most of his life. He would evaluate his performance with regard to each of them on a daily basis. He would also select one of the virtues to focus on for full week. Franklin often emphasized these 13 virtues in his Poor Richard's Almanack. In a letter to his son William, he gave the list of virtues, recommending that William follow them too.
Anyone ever try this?

and the only one you can depend on is yourself? I'm in my 40's but I can recall feeling this way since about high school (from time to time). Is this a jaded attitude? Are my expectations too high?

4 out of the 6 girls at work are currently pregnant and they just talk about baby and pregnancy stuff all the time. Is it wrong to ask them to tone it down a bit? I understand they're excited, but I'm sick of hearing about it.

If someone is obsessed with suicide would they ask bogus questions to keep their true intentions hidden. What kind of a Jack *** just does it for attention? What do you think the true mental state of the above referenced individual is?

I love just zoning out and having the hours pass in the evening. I find that it makes my week go by a lot faster. I also get a great night sleep. Getting stoned doesn't affect the way I do my job, and I find that it actually gives me more patience in my relationships.

I've always had a problem with procrastinating, and it's just gotten worse over time. If I'm asked to do something I find myself repeating the same old phrases.. "in a minute", "just give me five minutes", "ok, I'll do that later", etc.

Instead of working on stuff I should, like work and school, I play computer games (or post on Yahoo! Answers). Right now I should be taking a shower, but instead I'm here. I need to do something about this before it becomes a more serious problem than it already is, but I'll probably just procrastinate on that too. WHY DO I PROCRSTINATE SO MUCH, AND WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?

2. Sick and die in the dead bed
