It tells us that he was attractive to many females and settled on a smart one.

We'd need much more data to build a hypothesis, i.e. a large number of intellegent women falling for killers and rapists and/or a large number of less intelligent women that don't.

A single case is not the basis for a conclusion about anything except that case. Also note the use of the word "reportedly" , this means that her IQ was not confirmed and should be treated as suspect.

I'm not sure if it can tell us anything about IQ, but there are definitely other interesting questions we can ask. I want to be a forensic psychologist, and I am continually bewildered by women (like Doreen Lioy) who fall in love and sometimes even marry men like Richard Ramirez. What makes these kind of men attractive to seemingly normal women who come from all walks of life? With Doreen as an example, she simply refuses to think that Richard committed the crimes that he did, even though it was proven that it couldn't have been anyone else but him. Why? It's fascinating and completely bewildering to me.
