Definetely not #1..I would like to die with my family but not if that means if they are not ready to die so probally not #2 b/c that is in a some a way to #1, a horrible, probally painful way such as a plane crash. #2 and #3 are the same, you die in your sleep, which your dead bed is the bed that you die in, however #2 said peacefully, so yeah, I would probally want to die #2 although its similar to #3, "sleep peacefully and die.." {...}

Interesting question, a little morbid perhaps, but interesting. I got a kick out of one of the responses "heroic and painless". Wouldn't that be nice, all the glory with no effort. I think we would all like that. Although, I can't think of an act of heroism that didn't involve struggle, sacrifice and pain. So, I suppose I would want to die fighting for a meaningful cause; saving a life, standing for what is right, or just giving myself so fully to a good cause that it eventually wears me out. The way I would least like to die is by being eaten. I am really uninterested in giving my body to keep some carnivore alive.

I would like to die as a result of a good choice on my part, like shoving someone else out of the path of a car or standing between an abuser and a victim. I would like to feel that my death was on my terms in a way (I wouldn't do it to be suicidal, but:) and that I died as I lived: on purpose. Please understand that this isn't suicide, just a desire for my death to have some purpose. My family would know that I was satisfied with having done my best, and I wouldn't have a prolonged convalescence. (Oh, yes, and this heroic but painful death would have to not require time in a hospital long enough to have my own slippers.)
