This cousin, although I think he means well, thinks he is the most thoughtful person around. There are instances at school where it's like a curse to be related to him. I'll be in the middle of a conversation of with a friend [who doesn't like him] and he'll think I'm evil because I won't talk to him.
On other occasions, like when me and my mom go to the stores or something and we ask him to tag along, he starts asking other people if they want to come too. He thinks he's being polite by taking everybody's wishes into consideration, but he isn't the one planning the outting, and he doesn't take it into consideration how this other person he's invited doesn't really know us all that well "but it's okay because he's your third cousin".

There are times I'd like to point out these faults, but then he counters it with all of my faults. I don't know how to deal with this. Is this my problem or his? How do I figure out how to work in his mentality?

The list goes on...

This girl I know was raped by her father in middle school. Now she seems normal, isn't scared to be friends with guys and such. I know she hasnt had actual sex yet but she does some fetish things like getting paddled. She also described her vision of a guy acting dominant over her. Is this right for someone that has been through rape?

Reason I ask is because I do love her, not for any sexual reason but she has a nice personality and such. She knows I do but only considures me as a friend. I am fine only being that role but I still do my best to look out and care for her. Plus I also went through rape when I was younger and still don't like certain situations or actions from guys.

For me it's:

1. Books (necessary for fun and general well-being)
2. Music (would miss terribly if not in my life)
3. Films (fun but wouldn't miss it)
4. Art (Irrelevant to me, only interested in practical 'art' like interior decorating and clothes)

I tried to stopo a fight one and the guy beat me up in front of her, she stood their laughing and urging him on. It was not nice at the time but when i think of it now, I wish she had kicked me to

First, I'm not discounting the possibility that there may be the rare few that do not subvocalize their thoughts at all. I pose this question from the vacuum of my limited knowledge and experience: I form into words many of my thoughts, but as well can effortlessly, unintentionally perhaps "think" about the music I'm hearing, the sights upon which I'm looking without a single word my mind chooses to attach to the experience, consciously, explicitly at least.

I'm puzzled sometimes when I write: many times, I find myself typing--faster than I think, in words at least. I'm an engineer and I astound myself when I can intuitively solve a problem, seemingly skipping the usual steps in sequential, logical thought through bridges I've created by my intuition. I can "speed-read", but when I read anything of worth, I find myself subvocalizing, drifting across many tangents as I analogize or deconstruct a concept that lies within.

So, how do you think?

I have a fear of being restrained or trapped in a small space. It isn't claustraphobia because I don't mind small spaces. I just don't like being restrained or forced into a small space. Specifically I have a seizure condition and I'm terrified of the seizures becuase basically they remove my control of my body and I can only think and see out of my eyes but not control body movements.
