Why is it all school year long everyone is ready for summer break and then when it does finally get here we are ready for school to start so that the is something to do?

I’ve met a psychology doctor. I asked him to do some of their “strange” testson me so that he can figure out if i'm capable of studying abroad and if I can stand all the stress.

He advised me after doing his tests that I should continue at my current local college. He said I can’t stand the stress, I should chill out. And after graduation, I should work for at least a year, and then I will be able to study higher degree in the US if I want.

I really want to go to NYU. My problem is that he advised me not to go. While my friends told me to ignore the doctor and go. I will learn a lot, I will feel so stressful but I can go over it. The doctor told me I can’t. And if I tried to go, I might become so depressed. Who shall I believe? If any of you is a psychologist, please contact me via email so I can give u any more info u request.

It is really a question about this "new personal attitude" that people have about their personal rights outweigh those of the people around them. Basically it's, "I'm gettin' mine, screw everybody else!"

When I get to thinking about some things, like the meaning of life, whether there is a god, the universe, and other big questions, I can think very, very complex things in my head that seem clear as day. REALLY complicated stuff.

The thing is, when I go to write it down after pondering it, it leaves me. I can't even remember the basics of the idea usually.

Does anybody else do that?

I was in a loving relationship with a 33 y.o. woman for almost a year. She expressed her feelings very convincingly early on and I felt the same towards her. As time went on the problems began when we were not together. Her fears that I would find or speak to someone else when she wasn't around were so intense and extreme, that it inevedably fell apart for us. I never gave her a reason not to trust me. I realized that I had enabled her to feel this way also. Out of hope I could prove to her otherwise, she only expected more from me. Once it became to much, i told her i wouldn't prove to her anymore which added more stress to the situation. We would go through these episodes of her calling me a liar, to her appologizing and going on as it never happened till the next time, up to several time a day. I eventually gave up and ended it. I still care for her and wish i could have helped her. It was too exahusting for me. In your opinion what could have been done to salvage the relationship
