This reminds me of a statement in a presently used college sociology book. I use the book right now as a college student. It states that women, on average, only earn 65% of the amount earned by the average man. That's true - but with a catch. It's a catch that the book doesn't mention. Women get up to six months maternity leave, with pay, in the state where the study was done.

No, that doesn't exactly prove that women's earning power is equal. The point is, that a piece of truth doesn't always contain the whole truth.

What side of the argument would I believe most? Who knows! You can't count on ANYTHING from the media. The same media told us how people "pulled together" after Hurricane Andrew. My coworker lived there at the time. He says they were basically all ready to shoot each other!
