In the field of psychology it is a relatively new term given to someone who suffers from multiple disorders, usually a combination of schizophrenia and other mental conditions, like mood disorders.

Would or could bipolar disorders (or even something like Asperger’s Syndrome) be included in this newer group association? Or does bipolar disorder still stand alone as a specifically defined mental condition?

If so, how many different symptoms can be classified under the Schizoaffective Disorder label?

I ask because I know of a friend of a friend who has been diagnosed differently by several different doctors and the last diagnosagefrom a VA psychologist, was that he suffered from Schizoaffective Disorder. Before this he was diagnosed as bipolar by a county psychologist.

You ever ride with someone who freaks out when you drive through a tunnel? Shouldn’t this over-reactive symptom be given it's own name? Perhaps be classified as ‘Carpool Tunnel Syndrom’?

We all know different cliches about women getting together for girl talk while the men go off to play sport and out for a beer in the pub afterwards.

Are the cliches and stereotypes about how men and women relate as friends actually quite useful and pointing to a deeper truth?

Are these ways that we form friendships and relate to each other more about our culture, or are we hard wired to form friendships in different ways?

I watch tv shows like Oprah and other shows that depict happy people, so I know what being normal/happy is like, but I personally don't feel that way. I feel scared, on edge, nervous, anxoius, and most of the time just down in the dumps, like I can't think clearly. Soemone says something to me, and I blink a few times and go huuuh? I need a while for it to register.

All these thoughts I have 24/7, make sense to me. I'm not like this ALL THE TIME, So I know it's depression, but the problem is, when I'm depressed, I feel that I can justify it, and the outside world/society just kind of makes it easy, because I rarely see truly happy/normal people walking/driving around, just stressed/indifferent types.

The thoughts I get when I'm depressed are, feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, negative, evil, like life's not worth living and that it's sinister, and something not of god, I get all sorts of weird/strange thoughts, and lose faith in myself and life.

Any advice?

In just about every relationship, sooner or later, disagreements, tiffs and spats are bound to occur.

In your experience, do men and women have different ways of resolving conflict. Emotion, logic, anger, winning the argument and just plain old saying sorry.

Do you think that gender is significant in the ways we prefer to resolve our conflicts?

I was at the check-out stand today and noticed a Women's Health magazine. The cover featured a smiling, sexy, bikini-clad hotty instead of a normal person. Is all the talk by women complaining about women being portrayed as sex objects just that-talk?
Do sexy women on covers sell more magazines to women than realistic-looking women?

i keep dreaming that i can turn off and on light switches, and i use my powers, in these dreams, during very stressful or dangerous times, like i'm being attched or the family is getting robbed, i shut off the lights with my wonder powers, by mental telepathy. In real life when I am awake i keep trying to do this by starring at the lights when no one is looking, but they never go off. Why not? Why do my wonder powers only work when i am asleep? bummin.....

We all know that the dollar is in sad shape. From Giselle Bundshen allegedly not accepting US dollars in payment and Jayz waving around Euros in his videos to Jim Rogers, the guy that helped George Soros break the Bank of England in 1992 by shorting it and is now looking to divest from the US dollar entirely. My gold broker is even suggesting that the US dollar is headed for a major downturn. (I am sure he is looking for me to continue to buy gold but still....)

Who here feels the US dollar is headed for a collapse. If not, explain why you think so.
