what idiot commie teacher is making you do this? capitalism is the kindest form of economy. the only way you make a profit is by pleasing your fellow man. if your product or service is no good, no one can be forced to purchase it, and you go out of business. the more you please people, the more money you can make

Ever heard the phrase "You have to be cruel to be kind"?

Imagine an economy where a lazy worker receives the same rewards as an energetic worker.

Imagine an economy where an investor who makes poor decisions receives the same rewards as an investor who makes good ones.

Capitalism does a better (imperfect, but better) job of assigning rewards to the most productive, most energetic and wisest economic actors than any other system. That means lazy, dumb people don't get an equal share of the rewards. Is that cruel? Perhaps in the short run, for individuals. But draw your own conclusions about what that means in the long run.

Hope that helps.

Well, not that I agree with your premise, but often it's said.
Profit is made on the labor of others.
Highly resented by many workers.

The reality, without Capitalism and profits, there would be fewer jobs.
