(emotionally) there is nothing, noone to hold onto. everyone has proved to be a backstabber/doesnt care. I need someone I can be comfortable with pouring my heart out, and know that they are an endless source of love and care for me.

what can i do? i dont want to be this close to breaking down.

I'm rather conceited and vain.

I've tried acting humble and being friendly, but the fakeness just doesn't work.

What can I do to develop a more humble personality?

im not talking about aiming VERY HIGH, im talking about goals.

we were always told to have a goal, have a dream, and in fact, aim high so when you fail to reach the moon, you at least reach the stars.

but consider the 2 scenarios.

1) a guy aims to "go for jogs once every week, for 1 month", and failed.
2) a guy does not aim at all, and went for a jog, then tells himself "man, you did well!". he ends up being more motivated and confident in himself.

which is better, to dream and aim high, or not to dream and have goals at all?

It's not as though we all try to "hold on dearly" to the issues that screw us up...it's more as though the issue is like a pit bull with it's jaws clamped down on your leg and not letting go!

I want to be around more positive people. I am divorced and am currently living with my parents. My daughter is 15 and lives with her Dad in another state.

I talk to my cousin about some of the issues that I am going through with my ex-husband. She says that I should contact a lawyer for harassment and stalking. I do not agree and she gets frustrated with me. She also points out my weaknesses.. She is one year older than me, but I have decided not to talk to her much anymore.

I spoke on the phone with my brother and he insulted me so I hung up on him. I later sent a note to apologize, but he did reply. My cousin keeps reminding me that I hung up on him.

I don't talk too much to my parents. They judge me in their own ways.

I do attend a Divorce Recovery Group once a week and get support from it. They have outings once every few weeks.

How else can I try and avoid negative people and be around more positive, uplifiting people?

What made you choose your yahoo questions name? Does the name of other people on this site influence the way you view them. Or is it the relationship you build up with your contacts that affect the connection you might feel with certain people? Do names really matter? Polly

Check out some of these quotes by this woman, and check out her pictures:

They say every picture tells a story. I wonder if her looks explain why she went off her rocker and became a raving loon.
