What made you choose your yahoo questions name? Does the name of other people on this site influence the way you view them. Or is it the relationship you build up with your contacts that affect the connection you might feel with certain people? Do names really matter? Polly

I chose my name because--well--I love my companion to pieces, & she IS psychic, & the avatar is an old pen & ink sketch I drew of her. In general, names don't matter to me. Names that are mean spirited, that's another thing. I stay away from them. Seems they want to project their image as dark, or angry, & their answers confirm this. Otherwise, I relate to the PERSON. Sometimes, the name a person chooses does reflect "who" they are. The "connection" is what counts to me. I believe I would recognize you even if you changed your name!

I chose my yahoo answers name because its my name.. and i sort of sang it at the time lol.
I dont think the names of people on this site really matter.. its more about the way they answer questions. You can generally tell if theyre nice, layed-back or not from that.

How about the Bard of Avon?

What matters is what something is, not what it is called.
Origin

From Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, 1594:

JULIET:
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

Name change is not going to affect your thinking so it will not mine. You are what you are and how I see you is dependent on you questions and answers. But before you change your name you've got to tell us your new name or else you will be lost in the web of names.

The name doesn't matter. A person's personality, intelligence,
type of questions and answers, commonality, are what makes someone else want to "know" another person.

Names mean a lot to me. The other day someone use the alias Osama bin Laden, it's OK if that person like it. I never want to use that name for me. Hope you like my name.
