24 years old, alright job, well paid, nice house, great friend - not a bad life... but i feel utterly UTTERLY fed up with it all, the same cycle, the same routine... i feel as though i have no purpose in life, i dont know what it is that i want to even do... do i want a professional career, or do the things i LOVE (rock climbing, hang gliding).... i cant decide which is more important. I'd love a holiday, but the same old routine ensures i have no money to have one... its as though life is just eating away at my will to partake... i'm not suicidal, but i need help. I'm bottling all my emotions up, cry myself to sleep, yet am too "proud" to seek help. Proud of what i ask.... i dont even know the answer to that.

"For the son of man came to seek, and to save what was lost".

Has anyone else felt like this, directionless? How'd you cope? What did you do to get your motivation back? Until a month ago i was very proactive and knew my direction... now, im totally lost.

When I talk to guys, I talk face to face. However, when I am standing up and they are sitting down my eyes glance downward to their crotch. I am not a sex maniac. I don't do it on purpose, my gaze just goes down there, but at least I don't stare. Is there a reason for this?

Girl #1: Physical: Tall, skinny, dyed-blonde hair, green eyes, perfectly proportioned facial features, perfect figure, flawless skin, basically perfect. Personality: Horrible. Backstabbing, rude, selfish, the works. Rather boring, doesn't have social skills. Pretty stupid. However, you want to be seen with her because she's pretty.

Girl #2: Physical: Average height and weight, brunette, brown eyes, OK facial features and proportions, pleasant looking, but sort of plain. Personality: Sparkling, clever, funny, generous, etc. Intelligent, carries a good conversation, outgoing, lively. You don't necessarily want to be seen with her, because she's not considered 'pretty' or 'popular'.

Which girl would you rather spend time with?

I conducted this survey anonymously a while back and the response was overwhelmingly #1. Thoughts?

Some guy mentioned one of my questions as a reason for having an anxiety attack. Is that kind of overreacting? I dont know. I think so. I mean, I didnt want to cause that. But I was concerned about people not getting medical attention because they were asking for advice here. My intentions were pure. Now I've caused an anxiety attack. What's a man to do?

Anyway, why is it that some people think it's OK to say anything here. Unless they disagree?

Hi.

Is it normal or should i say usual for young children who have been sexually abused to start touching themselves at an early age? Obviously children do not masturbate as they are too young to understand the sexual part of it all most often?

Please do not give any insensitive answers as this is a very serious question and topic and can hurt many people.

thank you to anyone who answers kindly.

I feel really empty a lot of the time, like I'm missing something, then I'll get confused, and it will probably end up with me crying. This happens a lot, especially during school. Its a really weird feeling, like I can't breathe, but I'm still breathing. It only happens when I'm talking to people. It doesn't matter where, like if I'm home alone IMing a friend, or in school talking to someone, but it seems to always happen near people, but its never the same person. They aren't saying anything bad, or offensive. Its not like school is horrible, either.

Does this ever happen to anyone? I think its normal, just checking though. Thanks.

I am wondering if you feel differently about single mothers than you do single fathers. I overheard a conversation between two teachers talking about a student in a "single parent family." The assumption was that it was the mother raising the student and , of course the student must be having problems with a mother like that. When the second teacher found out that the single parent was a Dad - all of a sudden he was a hero and maybe "we as a school could do something to help out". Help out? I never heard such a huge difference in attitude about parenting. How do you feel about it?
