You believe in the death penalty for theft? People long ago stopped killing theives because they knew it was barbaric.
If someone breaks into your house, and you are there, that's different. Many theives will run if confronted, and a warning shot may be enough to drive one off. In Massachusetts, you can meet force with equal force. That means that if someone attacks you with deadly force (such as with a knife or club), then you can shoot him in self defense. If you actually kill him, however, the state takes a dim view of this and will put you on trial. The jury may or may not convict you, depending upon how credible you are.
Most states are looser about justifiable homicide (in self defense). However, if the desire to kill people is looming large in your mind, I'd worry about this, as it shows an awful lot of hostility.

oooooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! I know how you feel the only thing and I mean theONLY thing that saved them from dying and me from killing them and having to go backwards in my life was GOD .Protect your things by any means that you can without it involveing your safety remember these are just things some of them may not be replaceable but you for sure are not replaceable that includes jail time you don't want that either because then someone will get the very things you were trying to protect. I will be praying for you and over your belongings!!!!!!!.

Well because our government is so stupid it is illegal to do that, and you'll end up getting locked away for protecting your stuff and punishing those who desrve to be punished.

Not legal in our society, unless they break into your house while you are at home, and threaten you and you are really in fear for your life. But I know the feeling.
