24 years old, alright job, well paid, nice house, great friend - not a bad life... but i feel utterly UTTERLY fed up with it all, the same cycle, the same routine... i feel as though i have no purpose in life, i dont know what it is that i want to even do... do i want a professional career, or do the things i LOVE (rock climbing, hang gliding).... i cant decide which is more important. I'd love a holiday, but the same old routine ensures i have no money to have one... its as though life is just eating away at my will to partake... i'm not suicidal, but i need help. I'm bottling all my emotions up, cry myself to sleep, yet am too "proud" to seek help. Proud of what i ask.... i dont even know the answer to that.

"For the son of man came to seek, and to save what was lost".

Has anyone else felt like this, directionless? How'd you cope? What did you do to get your motivation back? Until a month ago i was very proactive and knew my direction... now, im totally lost.

seek professional help from a therapist. To help you find your way. It sounds like you are bored and you may need to try something new, get passionate about your life, It's your choice! Life is only what you make it.

You are too proud to seek help so you ask a question here? You aren't looking for help here?
I think you should ask yourself what has caused this sudden questioning of your direction. Maybe you need to set new goals. In Henrik Ibsen's plays a common theme was, what happens when you reach your goals? Does it lead to a loss of direction? Sometimes people are not prepared to reach their goals, just like some people are not ready for retirement. Maybe you have to look outside yourself for direction. When we begin to look outside ourselves to the bigger world, we often find some direction. It is hard to know where you are when looking at a single point in space-time. We have to take a wider view. Sometimes this means caring for others, not just ourselves. That really is the purpose of life.

im 22 years old. feeling exactly the same way as u... aimless in life. I feel that life is just slowly eating me away... the worst thing is i dont even know what I'm good at or what I want to do. I felt trapped in my job..being super unmotivated, I always drag myself to work. I thought I needed time alone, so that i would know what i want... hence i quitted my job. Now, I just coop myself at home... ... I guess all of us do feel this way at one point of our lives.... well... at least u got a nice job and are well paid.... =)

Just do what is next man. At your age I was traveling the country on a shoestring and unsure of my direction until something caught my attention for a minute then I was off again. Dont worry about it your young, have fun, life gets serious soon enough....lol

Well I agree it can be all very confusing at times however you just have to trust the universe and be open for new things to happen. Life is not all good or all bad, its about how things change and how we react to that change. You are not totally lost no one is, you might be a little impatient, it will come to you.

I felt like that alot while I was still a christian. I was set free from the dogma of manmade traditionalizm that i was raised in, when i learn from Yisrayl Hawkins, Pastor of the HOUSE OF YAHWEH, that the ways that are mentioned in the scriptures are the ways that HE intends for us to follow, then I was able to see myself within the realm of the true Faith the was planned from the beginning. I have never regretted this move, it hasn't been easy, but it has been rewarding. Questions? Ask at Abel, 325-670-9494, & that will settle the matter!!!
