Hi,
I am 23 years old and live in India.I am an Engineering student. I Drink about 2-3 times a month..not more than a few drinks.
My parents are completely against it. About a year ago, I was drinking at home and my mom caught me red handed and I was in such a shock that till today, I wonder what happened after that.Amnesia I guess.. (it was taken that seriously)

Must be because of the Shock!!
My point is that Here in India, Most families consider Drinking a crime or something..
Is it really that bad? Should things Change?

ps. Please dont laugh at my question. We follow a totally different culture,Although the basic human values are the same...

I can't understand how Britain is still rich, for example, there's no demand for coal, and no manufacturing is done in Britain anymore.

I just woke up from this really awkward dream I had (probably brought on from too much drinking last night), and for some reason I feel so confused right now. It isn't a normal "hung over" feeling at all, and in fact I really feel perfectly fine from that standpoint. But I can't get my thoughts together, and in general I just feel strange. Is that a normal symptom after a lucid dream?

(and yea, the dream was about this world, but parallel...and instead of my town being called Fayetteville, AR...it was Volleyball, RA. Yea...Volleyball...)

make adjustments for yourself so that you don't turn out (a generalizing, racist, backstabbing, closed-minded, druggy, drunk, woman abuser, all around self-serving jackass) and then you're all alone with nothing in common with most of your family. What now??

Is a person who tries to better himself or herself lost in a case like this?

60 Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?", here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Andy Rooney is a really smart guy!

I've been venturing out to date a bit, after years, but feel like I lead a double life.
I'm 44, single parent, and a med.professional. Despite unavoidable circumstances, I'm still ashamed at being in the situation I'm in. I've been reluctant to share this with some friends and especially dates.

I've worked since age 14. I guess my identity is largely my career. I was injured at work, and thrown into the work comp nightmare 'system'. Much discrimination

You get to pick one Dr. I have a complicated condition he admits he doesn't know how to treat Wk Cp refused to let me see the Dr who said he could! Both are Pain/rehab Drs but do very different things.
My condition got worse as I waited, I developed more problems, and went broke

Hired an atty to fight to see this new Dr, and rush things along. That took 18 mo. to be approved! They'd rather have me sit home receiving a check (<1/3 my salary).
Took 3mo.to get appt; they'd sent no records! He could do nothing.

With the advent of globalization and a perpetual thirst for material goods spiritual values are on the wane, stress and dissatisfaction is on the rise. Families are breaking up into fragmented units of labour for the economic treadmill as families become unglued. Is it a matter of time before Bharat is fully globalised and we begin to have our celebrity killers that open fire at random at public places with automatic weapons unable to keep up with the pressure of modern times.

We all have problems in life but we never see the good things FULLY. If we don't have a good job we never seem thankful enough that we have A job. If you're ill but not hospitalised we're never thankful that it's not that bad but moan about feeling unwell as if it couldn't be worse knowing that it could. Just two examples of how we're never satisfied. Ok, it's a bit generalised to say all of us would be like that in those specific situations but you get my drift I hope.

I think generally we're never happy with our own lot in life and always think others have it better. We're full of the 'why me?' as if it would be ok if it was someone else and as if we never have anything to be grateful for ourselves.

Why are we like this do you think?

I am a 40 year old married man. I have been trying to fight sexual compulsions from my teen years on. I have done some unsavory things in the past. I have worked in office environments with some very attractive co-workers and that is what keeps causing me problems. I start staring at a pretty girl, start thinking of them in various clothes or nude, engaged in sex acts with me or other women in the office or both. I become obsessed and have the thoughts of doing illicit things - my heart races. I have acted on some of these impulses like accidentally touching a ladies butt, and other things.
Email is getting me in trouble lately. I find myself writing the emails telling the girls exactly what I am thinking or did and kind of playing around with the send key and while this is happening I have my pulse quickening while picturing there reaction.
As you may have guessed this has resulted in problems. I by accident sent one lastjobto coworker and was fired.
