Wow you ask complicated questions! I suppose it all depends on your family values, spritual values, and your surrounding exterior physical world. I think difficult challenges do prepare you for a better living if you are in the right environment. I gather strength from visiting my mother who has been wheelchair bound for almost 40 years of her life and has always lived in a nursing care facility ever since I remember. Her life has been very difficult in relying on others to care for her, but it has prepared her children to live life to it's fullest despite the fact that we weren't given the chance to have a mother to care for us as young children. You must remember that there are many others who are not as fortunate and maybe our difficulties are not as big as we think.

Preparing for life? How much do you prepare for it, till you live?
Interesting...
My opinion is that your life starts when you are aware that you live, when life=living! Of course, we all have our "small theories"(from society and environment through observation and experience) of how life should be lived.
I think that life is challenging and evolving. It doesn't have a purpose unless you give it one. If you create a purpose, you have a life, you have a challenge, and you make a choice of evolving or not.

difficult only comes from judging you with someone elses standards and wanting what you dont have. there is no such thing as poor or difficult living but what you define it to be from others view points!
