would the be better suited in first person as in "I like" or in second person as in "You like." Such as "You are awesome" vs. "I am awesome." or would you have to use both, for it to be effective?

subliminal messages do not work. a psychologist about 50 years ago claimed they work and it scared the crap out of everybody so governments banned them right away. however, later, the man admitted to lying about the results. several other experiments confirmed the invalidity of his inital claims
i have done experiments myself to see if either form of flashing images (extremely fast, subliminal; fast, but slow enough that you can read it, like an internet ad) can cause a sort of self induced hypnosis. images that are fast but not subliminal tend to yield better, but not much better, results. however, it also causes a certain level of disorientation and confusion

Well they normaly use First person singular " I "; but don't waste your time, they don't work like in the movies. If they would work many loser would buy a CD's to make the hot girls fall for them; subliminal CDs would out sale drug or alcohol in America.

...hi. subliminal messaging is one of those topics of discussion that freedom raisers dismiss to consider.
people who have sought control over this or that demographic and children may have manipulated by liberal or conservative means subliminal messaging in the past but everything is ok now.
yes....the little nit wit religious and militant pin-heads which march about or creep about with anger or smiling at their latest cause as has been designated for their day are just fine thank you.
their fruitloops are soaking up the homogenized moo moo juice and their rifle barrels are well cleaned for taking out the incorrect among the infants in their sights.
as for the design of the message which may be sublimated and its' possible contexts....i don't know.
i am not sure how the brilliant of the psychological world which determined to be transgressive as such.
perhaps they used both to be sure ... but beware...they may have used "you" which is frightening .... for can you imagine this subliminal message being impressed upon millions of 7 year olds for several years..?

which of course is negative re-enforcement. but that is how humans are conditioned in this day and age and past. they have been granted license and freedoms by gods chosen in the churches and militaries to effect the most successfull and obedient citizens of the world.
do not do this or that because god will punish you.
but will punish via the auspicions of the benevolent theocracy......or democracy or whatever label most suits their identities.

subliminal messaging works but its' work is "confusing"...since messages received by a mind/brain is not of the conscious nature but affects feeling facility.
perhaps the reason your quick messaging was slightly more successfull is due to the nature of the receptive element which was consciously confused by non-rapid and perceptible messaging.
the universe is filled with messaging. humans message all of the time. it is the conscious facility which may be distracted and predisposed to this or that normal daily human function which will disregard and/or be confused by no particular messaging. but you're being a psychologist so i suppose you would know that. what concerns me is this...and perhaps as a psychologist/psychiatrist you would relate to me your own personal opinion.
since we may agree that conscious messaging is more effective due to the apparent nature of the messaging. would it not be much easier to find the professional communities culpable of mass/national child abuse simply by regarding the hostile nature of the messages of some which have had ''freedoms'' to disperse with the peacefull and developing facilities of millions of children by little boys with guns dressed up as men doing the work of worried and concerned economists.? to mention just one venue of abuser.

Do you want the victim of your subliminal messages to think that SHE thinks SHE's awesome, or do you want her to think that YOU think she is awesome.
Can't hurt to try both...never know how another person is going to take an illegal subliminal message, unless, of course, you are the person who is giving the subliminal messages to himself.
