I have a friend who is afraid of love..or maybe incapable of falling in love with someone???..is that possible??

It is possible they may have low self esteem a friend of mine is the same way she feels that no guys will like her but it so far from the truth. They may be afraid because they don't want to get hurt, they are afraid of commitment, or they just don't know what a girlfriend should act like. All it really needs is time and she'll build up courage or some guy will walk into her life that will sweep her off her feet and make her fall in love

In the end, the most likely result of love is a broken heart, since most relationships fail. I'm sure that is a deterrent for many. Can somone be incapable of falling in love? I think so because I am one of those people. When I look around and talk to people who are in love, I don't wish to emulate them.

If your friend just goes through partners discarding them after they have been around for a short time and getting a new one then perhaps your friend is just addicted to the amphetamine endorphine that is associated with the feeling of "falling in love" and once this temporary high fades they go off to find another fix. This endorphine is also found in chocolate oddly enough...

Perhaps the fear came from what your friend has seen.
Divorce, unhappy parents & negative relationship raps can cause another to be afraid........

it is possible. i have had great many friends who've invested great time,money, feelings etc. i thought it was just me, but i am incapable of falling in love. maybe because some of us don't believe in fairy tales anymore.

Simply by observing other people's experiences in that arena. It is because they want to avoid hurt in their own lives.

maybe the fear is more the fear of being hurt or regected.
