I am a Ph.d student. I have good hygene, I wear decent clothes, and I am very respectful of people. I have to be in group discussion with this "clique" of 5 other doctoral students who REFUSE to look at me when I speak. When I talk, they look at the floor, the wall, or their watch or leave to the bathroom. I noticed thatI get IGNORED and nobody talks to me no matter how friendly I am. They REFUSE to even say hello to me. I am the new person and nobody wants to give me the chance to know me. The only time I saw one of them look at me , is when he scowled and glared at me for 3 seconds. Why do they ignore and snub me for no reason? I am new in this class and everyone else knows each other. But still, I am treated as if I am INVISIBLE and it really bothers me that they REFUSE to look at me when I speak or when they speak. Any reasons why if I look and act like a normal person?

I believe I have an obsessive-compulsive personality trait. I prefer things to be in order. The obsessive part is the one that really bothers me. When I make a mistake, or when somebody does something unjust against me, I obsess over those. It is not healthy; and I believe it is a waste of time. Do you have any suggestion as to how I can avoid such obsessive thoughts?

Cultural anthropologists have defined socialization as the process by which we learn to get along with each other. What are the factors that you think would affect how traditional tribal peoples get along with each other. How would ours be in modern day America? Which do you think would have the most difficulty getting along with each other—the tribal culture, or those who live in a modern urban society like America?

I mean this question seriously, and I mean to exclude from the question those dislikes which are based on cultural attitudes alone, such as certain cultural distaste for foods, such as our distaste for insects as food). I mean, on a totally individual level, why do we hate certain foods? It can't all be psychological, can it?

I can't stand soy and fish, and my boyfriend can't stand celery and mayonnaise.

I have often wondered, Is this our body's way of telling us that for some individual and physical reason, we should not have these foods?

Is it a misfire with the tastebuds?

Do any of you have a more informed and scientific answer to this question?

To be frank, in an almost purely capitalist society such as ours, the rich should be respected and comended for their hard work and daring entrepreneurial activities rather than over taxed and looked down on. The poor (with exceptions such as those who have become poor due to natural disaster and have diseases, in general things out of their control) on the other hand, should be the ones who people should have no sympathy for, especially those who are homeless and refuse to work. Why don't they work like everyone else? No one is stopping them! I think blind sympathy has led us away from the path our Founding Fathers set: Good, pure capitalism.

Note: I am middle class.

Ithoughtmuscleswere attractiveto women.I've heardwomen like men with nicebutts, broad shoulders, muscular chest, etc attractive. Yesmany guys have funny bodies, but in the real worldthere are quite a bit of women with unattractive bodies aswell.I understandthe hair part but women more prone to cellulite,i think.Beauty is grace and elegance to me. Guys were made to be strong, and tough, opposite of graceful. So a woman is more attractive because she is more curvy?WellI hope women are morefemine thanmen. An attractive woman's face is beautiful, but isn't a man's handsome face just as attractive, but obviously in a different manner? Seenmale physiques wherethey looked like someone chiseled away at theirflesh withsuchintricate muscular outlines separating thepecsfrom the abs and detailed lines in the upperbody.Could one argue more attractive, because morehandsome? nothey'rejust different.I'mnaturallycutandmuscularydefined, can admit cool if I was rippedthough. So musclesnotthatattractive?ladies?

I get this sometimes from men I don't know. They think nothing of coming up to me and telling me to smile and making some comment about me not smiling - you know, despite them not knowing what is going on in my life e.g. maybe my father died and I don't feel like smiling.

But it seems that guys only do this and they only do it to girls.

Have guys ever been told to smile by other guys or by girls?

What is it with these people?

OK. My other half keeps complaining that I don't make enough money and that I am a thief. She called me a burglar tonight and I had to correct her, that I am just a thief, as I don't break into houses. I just steal stuff, like alloy wheels, so not a burglar or a robber. The profit sucks and I think I make more money when I am in work. Anyway somehow it pays the bills when I am out of work.
We argued tonight and I told her she could easily make 1K in one night on the streets. Although I am the best looking immortal in the world I would not make that being male. Unless I did it with old men, which I would not do. So hence I am left with earning small money thieving and its hard stressful work. My other half is a student nurse and earns less than I do.
Anyway my question is, is it easier for men or women to make money?
