In most school, to be able to take statistics, you'll have to pass with a satisfying score in college algebra first. I took statistics classes at two different schools. The first time was at a university, they emphasized more on the math/statistics part. The second time was at a college, they emphasized more on the research project, in which we each set up a hypothesis pertaining to daily life, collected data, analyzed our own data, and then discussed our findings. Both are stats for psychology degree, but they had different emphasis. I guess it depends on the school. If the school is more on research, their classes will stress more on the math/stat part. If the school is more on practical application of psychology, the stat class will stress more on the daily issues, in which you can set up hypothesis and find out if it can be proven. If you already took a stat class for psychology, don't worry about having to take it again if it's transferable to the new school. Many schools offer different stat for psy majors vs. for math or accounting majors. So, be careful when you choose the stat class. Make sure it's stat for psychology or stat for social sciences, not the stat for math department.

For your undergraduate degree, you first have to get through college algebra to satisfy your core requirements, then psychological statistics would be part of your degree requirements. I also got my master's degree in counseling and had to go through advanced psychological statistics.

Statistics is a prerequisite. I just finished my paper and it is all very straight forward. Some of it is a bit mind bending but it is easy to figure out.

Don't be shy..... I am HORRIBLE at math, algebra, and the other hard levels... I took intro to stats my first semester surmising that if it was math difficult, I would not make it through college. To my surprise, stats needs no pre-requites. Stats is all new learning. I have completed intro to stats, psych stats and graduate stats with no problem. believe me, if there were any math involved I would have failed.

Algebra of course would be basic. After that you complete STATISTICS and TESTS & MEASUREMENTS... That is essential if you are planning on going through with graduate school.
