I'm from a small town pretty much in the middle of nowhere where most of it's occupants are terrified of going to the city. They are afraid that if they happen to look someone in the face, even by accident that they will be gunned down. Now, on the flip side, a people have starting moving to our area (God help them) from the city to hopefully live better lives (yeah right, it's boring as sin here). Anyway, I've made friends with a few of the families and found that they are terrified of our wooded areas because they fear they will be mauled down by bears, bitten by snakes, or shot by the local rednecks (this one might actually occur, you know how these backwater people can be). What I find to be the most amusing of the whole situtation is people are afraid of stuff they have no real experience in, most likely these ideas were formed from tv or the movies. Heck, look at NYPD Blue or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'm sure if I had any real concerns about death I might be leary about them.
