I joined for free, an internet site to look up my ancestor, the one who was hanged for nicking a loaf of bread, and paid a fiver to search, which was 'valid' for seven days. I couldn't remember his name before the seven days was up Now they say my fiver has expired and no refund is possible.
I never actually used their facilities to look up anybody- How can my fiver disappear?

you knew that aspartame (artifical sweetner) was banned by the FDA for 16 yrs prior to its introduction because it could not pass a singel toxicity test? DId you know that aspartame is linked to many medical conditions and drug interactions one of them which mimics multiple sclerosis? Did you know that the CEO of aspartames maker (Searle) was none other than Donald Rumsfeld, who with the help of Ronald Reagan used political clout to get it on the market and block the FDA from acting against them despite a huge pile of medical research opposing it? Would you boycott aspartame products of you saw the research for yourself? just do a search on aspartame poisoning, and see. In the meantime, what would you do to help spread the word? Would you be able to give up your precious diet sodas and sugar free treats?

I've seen it asked here many times before but never gave much thought to answering.

Why do men see prostitutes?

Or

Why do women prostitute themselves?

Having given some thought allow me to indulge myself:

There is a certain honesty that exists between the involved parties. The woman is only interested in and wants the money.....and the man is only interested in and wants the sex. When the transaction is complete everyone goes home.

Many relationships have gone to the altar under the same premise, however the lack of honesty in the relationship caused a failure in the marriage.

Now before you gal's start in on me I ask that you go back and read what I've said. It does in no way mean all marriages. I simply feel that if you read what I say you will agree that it is an honest assessment to the question.

What is your answer to the question?

How many children have you adopted?
How much of your income do you donate to support homeless children?
What have you done to eliminate the need for child social services?
What actions have you taken to do something to improve the condition of unwanted children already walking on the planet?

Why do you believe telling another what they can't do is addressing the real issue?

BTW, many pro-choicers would not choose an abortion. We just happen to respect the rights of others to care for their themselves.

I cringe when I see all of the books out there titled this or that for dummies. It is so demeaning. I believe people just don't have the knowledge or experience and that we learn at different speeds but people are certainly not dumb.

So, why do people think that about themselves?

In my life, its a toss up. Each has strengths and weaknesses. I need my intellect to do my schoolwork and do my job, niether of which usually require much emotion. But in social situations, my emotions are more important. That's what people pay more attention to in communication and they give away how you're feeling long before you open your mouth. I also can't live without fun. But I can't feel my way through a research paper or do research before approaching a girl, so its a tie. How is it for you?

my girlfriend is forever telling me off for scratching "down there" so i thought i'd carry out my own research. i pretended to be at work when she came home, i was actually watching her from a small hole i had drilled in a living room cupboard with secret video surveillance hidden throughout the house. after she left for her work i emerged from my hiding place and studied the results. in total she had scratched herself "down there" a total of 8 times which is the same number of times i would do it in a six hour period, so i am left in a bit of a quandry. can you help me out before i start breaking into womens houses to carry out more "research"

Lately I've been feeling like I really need to do something reflecting my emotions and stuff, but everytime I try, I get upset.

I wrote for a while, then one day I realized it was no good despite what everyone said and I quit what I had been working on for months. I've been trying to write things since, but I get upset and for some reason I just can't go on. I have plenty of ideas, they just never get carried out.

I tried to draw, I can't draw, even when it's scribbles it's ugly and not good enough so I quit.

I tried painting, playing clarinet, sax, piano, guitar, just talking to people, but nothing ever helps. I talked to a friend and he said I sounded obsessive compulsive about it, so that got me thinking about perfectionism. Am I just a perfectionist? Untalented? Touched in the head? Or don't I understand?

I always thought the way we wake up and start our day is very important. Like to the leadoff hitter in a batting order. On most days when I have to work and my alarm clock wakes me, I wake up a little pissed as I start to map out my day. On a day like today, when I can sleep in, I usually awake with a strange mix of peace and confusion, as I feel rested and try to piece together a dream. How about you?
