Well, make sure you don't cross the line for sexual harassment as some of these other answers suggest - really good way to lose your job and get sued.
Depends really upon how old she is, and how long she has been employed and her position in the company. My guess is she is overwhelmed and/or is under tremendous stress either at home or at the job.
If she is your superior and has been there for a few years, then really, it's just work - it's nothing personal. Ask her if she needs help with anything - sometimes that is a stress reliever in and of itself.
Otherwise, the best thing to do is stay professional and courteous. You are not there to be her friend, you both are there to get the job done. If it continues, talk to the owner or HR person and voice your concerns.
If she is dealing with the public and portrays an attitude, the company needs to know about this behavior - it's no way to stay in business and there is a lot of competition out there.

if she is your "boss" then you can not do much
if she is just a co-worker than ask her if she is always this bossy/bitchy, or do you do something to encourage it.
let her knowexactly what bothers you
(be specific) OR she won't get it,
last but not least just set down some rules for how you want to be treated in the workplace and let her know that her behavior is not ok. and be firm,,
good luck

I will assume you are the man in the picture and answer on that assumption. When a woman is bossy, it is a sign that she is not in control in other areas of her life. And you probably know that sugar catches more flies than vinegar, so shower her with compliments. Flattery works every time.

If she is not your boss, the best idea is to ignore her.
But if you want to but her on the defensive next time try this: Thank you for the safe advise, but I prefer to listen to the people who are actually selected to be in charge. Or, you could be insultive and say: Who made you God!
Some times people don't realize how they are coming across. If you are close, then maybe in a quiet moment at lunch you could ask her what is pushing her buttons? And then say, please relax and let "name" be in charge.
I wish you luck because some people won't listen or change.

telll her that you are a very sensitive person, and that sometimes you feel threatened by her superior work skills, and that you feel as if you aren't good enough to do the job. But, if she could help you get over that, it would be a great boon to your job performance and your two's working relationship. A little flattery is an awesome disarming tactic.

Move on to another job, if you can. If not, be cool, calm, collected and keep your thoughts to yourself. Be as professional as possible. If your job/employer has an MOU or other "rules of the road", read it and understand it. Bide your time. Play dumb, even. But don't let your feelings (anger, resentment, etc) get the best of you.

Simply look at her and tell her that you know what your job is and how to do it. Let her know that you will be more than happy to help her if she seems to have forgotten that she ISN'T the boss of your particular department.

Bend her over your desk and bang her brains out. Then find a way to get rid of her.

Ask her to help you with something. let her know you value her opinion. Ask her how you can assist her. Once she feels you're on her side , your life will be a lot easier
