In my life, its a toss up. Each has strengths and weaknesses. I need my intellect to do my schoolwork and do my job, niether of which usually require much emotion. But in social situations, my emotions are more important. That's what people pay more attention to in communication and they give away how you're feeling long before you open your mouth. I also can't live without fun. But I can't feel my way through a research paper or do research before approaching a girl, so its a tie. How is it for you?

I'm a woman, we're 90% emotion...LOL! However, I do have a brain and know how to use it. As you said, it's both (at least for me). I couldn't get by without either one, nor would I want to...but I also can't say one is far more important than the other, to me...I'm an educated person and I do a job that takes skill and knowledge, as do some things outside of work (driving a car, riding a motorcycle, etc) but emotions also come into play daily in my interactions with friends and family...when I'm in dating relationships...out dancing and socializing, etc...

It would be a really tough call for me to say which one was more important...although intellect probably (actually) is, I'd lean more toward emotion...

Both are so very important. Both make up who you are. But the most important thing about your emotions and your intellect is thay you believe them to be positive and they make you a good, smart person.

your intellect is your "book smart" and your emotions is your "common sense" smart. A beautiful girl could be really intellegent but just so... dumb, aka no common sense.

In social surroundings, common sense is very important to pay attention to. In your work, Networking and meetings, you need your emotions to "feel" what other's are really saying w/o their words.

In "doing" your job, or school work, you need your intellegence. Your memory skills on your training or a book you read, etc..., etc..

So, you can't really say one or the other is more important. Because everything about you and what you do and how you do it is all so... important! Basically, use your intellegence into psychology and common sense, "emotions" in sociology and you no longer have a toss up. Just explain them both. like you said, you can't be "intellegent all the time, you have to have fun too"

I feel that my emotions intertwine with the intellectual part of myself, that I can't really separate them since they are both of great importance for my personality to thrive; the spiritual part of my life also has great comfort for the parts of the intellect/emotions, and they all effect my physical body.

That is a very difficult question, but I would have to answer that your emotions are more important. They (emotions) dictate the type of person you are, and not your intellect.

Sometimes my gut feeling save me from hiccups of well-thought plan.

I try to make decision/choice that is comfortable with both my intellect and emotion.

My emotions tend to rule my life. This becomes a huge problem because i suffer from a few different illnesses...and have trouble thinking logically in situations. So I act out emotionally which escalates a problem further...making me more emotional...and around and around it goes...

this is a GREAT question, and you're right. It's hard to choose between the two.

And even though I'm no "Special Ed" kid, I'd have to say emotions. It's the rawest form of expression and communication.
