What is the reason behind rooster's eggs??
I know alot of ppl will respond saying they don't, so please don't reply if that's what u think. I know they do, because in my lifetime we had two roosters who laid eggs. the eggs were not regulary laid, they happened a few times. anyway, the size of the egg was too small in comparasion to our other hens (almost 2cm), and it did not contain any yolk, only transparent liquid. I just found out that some research labs were offering a large amount of money for a rooster that could lay eggs, too bad the roosters been dead for more than a decade. Anyway, i could not find a reason behind this phenomena. Is it genetic experiments that caused this rooster to lay eggs, or what??

I've found an injured adult robin with a broken wing. Have had it about a week. Early on, it would eat 50 mealworms or more a day but now it's picky or maybe not eating them at all. Can't really tell because the worms get tossed all around the floor and I don't know how many have been eaten or not. Before, it would eat them promptly from a dish when brought them even if I was in the room. Now it doesn't get excited about the food- at least when I'm there.

I wonder if it was just very hungry before because it hadn't had big meals due to the winter and now it's stuffed and doesn't need to eat as much.

Other than that, it seems healthy. Jumps around quickly and with strength it seems. Has a strong voice. Drinks and bathes in a pan of water ( I guess. water is less and splashed everywhere when I check. Haven't actually witnessed it).

just not sure if its health is deteriorating with no obvious signs. I plan to take it to a wildlife center when I'm not blizzarded in.

I have to do a paper on color adapting animals and I was wondering if any of you people knew of animals that change colors to chamophlage into their environment. Obviously I know of the chameleon, but I was wondering if you know of other animals that do this. If you could give the scientific name, the name we call it, or both, I would greatly appreciate it.

I live in Portugal and a few years ago, in the region of Alentejo, I saw a spider in a hole in the ground. The size was medium/large and the colour was dark, I think. But the most striking thing was that the spider was completely covered by her offspring: there were hundreds or thousands of little spiders crawling on the back of their mum or dad. Does anyone know why? Were they feeding on their parent or just taking a ride? What were they doing? And what species could this have been? My gratitude goes to all of you (my fancy way to say "thank you")! (And yes, I love "Charlotte's Web"!)
