I love bird songs and sounds.. in winter my favorites are American Goldfinches, Purple finches, Chickadees, Northern Cardinal, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Pine Siskin and Redpolls. Not all of them sing songs but they all make beautiful sounds and calls. I have feeders outside my window and sometimes the whole tree is filled with finches and the cacophony of sound is wonderful! I love listening to them.

In summer my favorites are Brown Thrasher, American Robin, White-throated Sparrow, White-Crowned Sparrow, Veery, Common Grackle, Red-winged Blackbird, European Starling, Dark-eyed Junco. I absolutely love the music Brown Thrashers make.. it is so varied and musical, and the Veery has an incredible song as well.

You can listen to their sounds for yourself..

I usually only hear house sparrows near me, but this morning it was warmer than it's been for a few days and I heard chickadees, blue jays and a white-breasted nuthatch.

My favourite bird song is the wood thrush - which unfortunately does not habitate my part of the world :-(

Of the birds that are found in my neck of the woods, I'm partial to the red eyed vireo, white throated sparrow, and the hermit thrush.
