My dear daughter believes that there are some fish without any tails. I believe that to be called a fish, it must have a tail.

Who is right? Ice-cream is riding on this!

Thanks,

Cris

I have heard that ancient sharks had 6 gills slits and modern sharks have only 5. But in pictures that I have seen online, all the pictures of prehistoric sharks have only five and the only one i can find with 6 is a modern shark called a Sixgill. Please help me because I need it for research for an art project.

I know the motivation would be there. Many of us would want to recreate the dog. But would it actually be possible, do you think, to do so given the conditions, social, economic, geographic, environmental, etc. of the modern world?

Are they nice or not? Do you have one?

I don't mean pets that can find John 3:16 in a Bible or similar circus tricks.

I mean... we know that many species have complex social behaviour, with apparently rich communication, social ordering, even recreational sex.

So have any animals evolved anything that we would regard as religious behaviour? Do they even gaze up at the stars and wonder? Could we detect even this behaviour if it does happen? If it doesn't happen, why not?

Hi. I recently asked a question regarding the point of these riddiculous creatures, although now I would like to know that since they only seem to emerge in September, what do they do for the rest of the year? Where do they hide? How do they survive the winter and snow etc.? Please enlighten me!

(PS. Stupid answers are welcome...)

If you have ever been in the military and stationed in Korea, it seems that there is this one species of spider which spins webs all over base, have an average body size of a thumb, and are cannibalistic. They are bright yellow with long black blotches, and I have no idea what they are called either in Korean or in English. It seems more numerous than any other insect in Korea, but perhaps that is because they are so visible. Anyone know what it could be and if it is poisonous?

We eat a lot of seafood that's imported from different countries. But most of them are shipped frozen already. I want to have some idea (like the technology [if any] used) on how live marine fish and other products are transported worldwide.

Thanks.
