How should a male "ladybug" be called?

No silly, the term "ladybug" is the laymans term for the species, which is sexually monomorphic (which means males and females look the same). As you can see from the link below, there are many different species of ladybugs, which differ by color and spots.

All genders of ladybugs are called ladybugs.Another name for this beetle is ladybird,which doesnt refer to the gender,but some dumb people may take it as a bird if refered to by that name.

the name ladybug is a childs name the real name is Coccinella septempunctata. And no, there are male ladybugs (how did you thinked they reproduce) lol hope this helps you

In Britain we call them ladybirds. Of course they're not all female. A male ladybird is a male ladybird.

No.. some are females while some are males.. only the name reads lady bug...that's it.
