NASA believe that they now have the ability to predict the intensity of the upcoming solar cycle, and they confirm it will be massive 50% larger than the one we have had in the past

If correct, the years ahead could produce a burst of solar activity second only to the historic Solar Max of 1958. That was a solar maximum ...people knew something big was happening when Northern Lights were sighted three times in Mexico.
Obviously there was no cataclysm in 1958, so solar storms on their own are unlikely to be much to worry about. But what if they coincide with some other event? Scientists however do not know what a Solar Storm could produce with another cataclysmic even as a polar shift. It is said Russia and China are investigating secret missions regarding this? Thoughts?

Shouldn't it be the same? The aircon takes in air, be it through the room or from the outside, and runs it through a compressor to drop it's temp right? since the thermostate is the same, shouldn't the temperature be the same? but we do feel colder in the same room in a rainy day right? Or is it me?

In 2005 a Russian ship sailed to the North Pole without icebreaker help for the first time. Scientists who study our climate state that the Arctic will be open to commerce for five months out of the year. Eventually if global warming continues ships may be able to sail through a Northwest Passage created by the melting ice. As the Arctic ice melts, new areas of natural resource development will open up. Of course, the bad news is that some of our largest cities may in time be under water. The classic good news bad news scenario.
