Hi, why did the myth propagate that in the desert, the days are hot and the nights freezing cold? I lived in the Middle east and the summer nights were downright hot (80's and 90's for the lows). The winter nights were cool but then the days were pretty mild too. So where in the world can you find burning hot days and freezing cold nights in the SAME season? Does such a place even exist?

so washington has been hit really bad with wind/rain storms. power was out for over a million houses today and they dont expect to be able to get it all fixed for at least a couple days.there's also trees fallen on houses, i believe a couple people have died. grocery stores have lost all of their perishable foods, etc. there's a LOT of damage. is any of the rest of the west coast -or anywhere in the us for that matter- having storms like these? or is it just us up here?... just curious

I was wondering just because all the clouds are to the ground and usually the worst I have seen is misty rain. Can their really be a tornado when all the clouds are on the ground? I have never heard of this happening but me and my sister have wondered if it can happen.

Does the cold invade the warmer space or visa-versa? Ignoring the fact that the door itself will cause air flow, when you open a door from a warm room into a cold one, which way does the air move?
