now imagine theres a point A at height of 40 metres . now from that point a thin non elastic lace (thread) starts to materialize(magically orignate) and run down and hits the ground due to gravity. the lace keeps on appearing and its like endless. now when it appears at point A its velocity is zero but it gets jerked up to a velocity . now what would be the vellocity of the lace when hits the ground after runnin down 40 metres. AIR RESISTANCE IS TAKEN AS ZERO. here gravity is acting on the vertical length of the lace which is forty metres. according to me the lace can have a maximum velocity of only 20 m/s. which is less than 28 m/s when u drop something from a height of 40 metres..

Estimate the lowest possible energy of a neutron contained in a typical nucleus of radius 1.14E-15 m.

I am totally stuck on this question. Every equation I have found seems to be in reference to an electron. I don't need the answer given to me...but a push in the right direction would be much appreciated!

Since the equation is in the form of d^2u/dx^2 = c^2 * d^2u/dt^2, which has the general solution u = F(x-ct) + G(x+ct), how do we know that the solution is sinusoidal?

my theory is that this physical universe cannot contain ANYTHING of infinite value and that it currently has nothing of infinite value in it.

infinite heat would mean infinite expansion at infinite speeds. infinite speeds means infinite mass. infinite mass means infinite gravity. infinite gravity means infinite compaction. all of this must happen at infinite speeds, hence, it could not be explained by simply saying that "it would expand, then contract because of the gravity" because if you think about it, nothing can happen at infinite speed.

please think hard about this and try to shoot my theory down.

The topic of cold fusion has created a lot of controversy and hype since it was announced some some 15 years ago.

Many people have also claimed to have created fusion using the cold fusion method.

My question is this. In fusion, 2 deuterium atoms will fused to create helium. If the people who claimed they actually created fusion, they must have also detected a lot of helium being generated.

Did those people who claimed to have created fusion actually created helium in the process? The detection of helium would be a definite proof fusion has occurred.

im working at this lab which involves comparing mumentom of a system before and after an inelastic collision...the trial that the blocks were moving with slower speeds , has a greater percent difference in momentum...i was just wondering if there is any sourse of error in there or is it just normal....the percent difference is doubled in this trial...

"A beaker of water and a brass cylinder are placed side by side on the pan of a balance and weighed (the cylinder is next to the beaker, not in it). The brass cylinder is then placed in the water and it rests on the bottom of the beaker. Does the balance read different in this case? Explain your answer, and show that it is agreement with Newton's 3rd law of motion (equal and opposite forces)."

Thanks for any help!

For example, why isnt the unit of electric charge the same charge found in 1 electron/proton? Or speed/distance/time based on the speed of light, and some fundamental measure of distance/time?

It seems like this would help in finding relationships between things, but maybe thats just me.

Don't tell me that "the size of these units isn't convenient". This is why we use prefixes. (kilometer, kilogram, centimeter, etc.)
