I think you mean manometer! A manometer is a tube, closed at one end,the open end is submerged in a container of mercury and it sits in front of a graduated scale that reads inches of mercury, it registers changes in atmospheric pressure. An Aneroid barometer is a mechanical device that does the same thing, a partially evacuated, flexible, bronze drum is connected to a quadrant gear that rotates a shaft with a pointer attached to it, when atmosperic pressure changes the drum senses the change and the reading is taken off a dial behind the pointer. They are both used by meteorolisdtists as aids in predicting weather. Of the two the manometer is most accurate.

'nano' is a prefix meaning x 10 ^ -9, or 0.000000001. So 5 nm (5 nanometres) is 5/1000000000 metre. It is a distance, not a measuring device.

A barometer is a device to measure atmospheric pressure. The traditional barometer is an inverted tube with mercury, but it is not easy to carry it around. An 'aneroid' barometer contains no liquid, and is much more common.
