Check this, lets say power is on in your home, everything is unpluged and lights are off. Is your meter still running, it should stop or go very very slow. Heres what i wanna know, Now if you turn on 1 light that has a blown bulb, does yor meter start moving or speed up. Do you use any power with the light on that has a blown blub, remember the light bulb isnt giving off any light, does that mean you are using no electric?

Okay I really don't want to do my science fair project, so I've made up all the stuff I told my teacher. I told her I was doing a science project about "how does salt water affect plant growth?" We have to give her the conclusion and graphs and tables though. So if you've done this project before or one similar, or if you just know what the growth will be, can you tell me? Or maybe an estimate of normal plant growth over two weeks? I don't need anything excact, just something believable. Thanks.

I am not talking about people who are not knowledable in science and may slip in, but the people who are. Especially the people who have posted their credentials on their profile and have answered several questions in the SM section.

How can their answers be wrong if it is pertaining to science?

For my forensic science class I have to do some kind of project that would be presented on a poster. The subject can be anything about forensic science. The class is more chemistry based than biology based. I hope you guys can help me with some ideas. I really appreciate it!

First of all, I'll tell you flat out - I am NOT a science kinda person. I hate science, I hate science fair, and I don't like my science teacher (pointless, but it makes it all that much harder to do this).

The point is, I was looking for a quick, easy, 1-2-3 step project that was so easy, a caveman (or I) could do it. Here are the two projects I narrowed it down to:

1: Testing how the number of letters in a file change the size of the file.
------------ Basically opening Word and saving 1000 letter A's as one file, then as another file saving 2000 letter A's, then as another file saving 3000 letter A's, etc. Then comparing/contrasting the data.

2: Testing if saving an image file in a different format will change the size of the file.
---------- Saving a pic in different formats (like JPEG, TIFF, PNG, etc) and then comparing/contrasting the data.

I got this puzzle for my Psych class to do where you have to touch everyborder without it going over it twice in a continuous line.

Heres a picture of what it the puzzle is and the other picture is what i got soo far, i still didn't get to touch the top right line. Its driving crazy!

Basically the continuous line can cross over itself just as long as its not going over the border more than once.

also if anyone knows the name of this puzzle i would greatly appreciate it.

Apart from some being mind-altering, when microwaved they fill a bowl of water straight after the last was drained, in a tardis-like manner.

We hear in the news almost every day of some kind of technological or scientific advance. New technologies like genetic engineering and nanotechnology are giving us the power to remake the world already. But should we be concerned about these advancements? Will this eventually lead to a dangerous dependence of technology?
