Help! Issues such as loss of biodiversity /ozone and resource depletion/global warming/pollution..any environmental crisis.

I can only think that the global warming is a natural process and that the earth has gone through periods of warmer temperatures in the past and that scientific research have proven this to be the case?...help...any other suggestions would be appreciated

For those who aren't aware-- I'm not trying to imply that we shouldn't care about the earth.

Its just a group task Ive been giving to provide an insight on "the other side of the story"on environmental controversy

Clearish? White?
Just something to think about..

Let's assume its just papain and not all the extra stuff like the salt and spices. It doesn't say much in the Wikipedia article.

Also I wonder if criminals have used this to get rid of evidence, like dead bodies, or if it can help destroy DNA (blood or semen), like how bleach does with semen. Unless it doesn't break up DNA strands, but just tissue structure.

I'm into science & forensics in general and a big fan of shows like the old Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series, House M.D., but also a huge fan of Horror, especially the reality based stuff like Traces of Death, and the Guinea Pig series.

Thanks!

Umm, hello everyone. I just wanted to ask if it would be wise to keep Additional Maths as a subject if i want to go for space sciences at a later stage, or should i just stick to physics.

P.S: I am totally naff at Maths. Crapola more like it!

A recent Australian study showed that some HP laserjet printers, though not all models, emit high levels of carcinogenic particles, worse than cigarettes - and also Toshiba and other makes. I suppose Brother laser printers have a different toner technology because they have replaceable drums as well as cartridges, so perhaps they are safer to be around than those that tested high. Is there any contributor with technical knowledge to comment on that? (Particularly Brother HL-1450, because I'm sitting right next to one!)

How do you scare bats away or prevent them comming so close? We go on walks by a lake and bats fly right next to our heads. Sometimes they fly inches away, where you have to duck or else they will collide with you. I am afraid one of these times these little brown bats are going to hit one of us.

Is there certain colors to wear? Should we not duck? Should we keep walking right into the bats? Do bats hate, smells, light, or noise? Is it normal for bats to come this close even when your far away from the lake and bugs?

One time there was one bat comming at me at the corner of my eye and if I did not duck it would have hit me, and i am not a paranoid type of person.

In May next year CERN switches on its Large Hadron Collider (LHC) particle accelerator and collider to try and recreate the Big Bang 'in miniature' - does this worry you at all? They admit they don't know exactly what might happen, but assure us it's going to be safe (?) - so maybe it's US who perpetuate the death and birth of the universe each time we evolve enough to switch on another LHC. What do you think?

Like in the movie Junior, they inserted a fertilized egg into the man's abdomen and then the guy takes a drug to keep the pregnancy going? Do you think science will ever make it possible for this to happen in real life?

If so, how many of you men would actually do this?

If one goes really deep into space and gets lost, stranded, enters a wormhole, whatever, is it possible that we could end up in an Earth where say for example JFK was never shot and died of old age? Or how about ending up in an Earth where the Axis powers won World War II?
How about traveling into the past? Is it possible to land into an Earth where its the time of the Roman Empire, or the time of Jesus Christ? What about landing in a future Earth where the year 3000, or 4000? Is this really possible? I know it sounds crazy, but given the complexity and vastness of the Universe, is there a remote possibility that this could happen?

She was in her metal cage at the time it happened. The cage has a plastic floor. She didn't bite through it in one chomp either. It looks like she took her time chewing on the copper wire. The cord went to an aquarium pump and the pump was still operating when the chewed wire was discovered.

I do not believe in evolution.

I have seen eons of history revealed in the walls of the Grand Canyon. I have seen a hundred and fifty thousand years back in time with my own eyes while gazing at the Andromeda galaxy through a telescope. I have heard the low hiss of static that is the fading reverberation of the Big Bang.

I know that the ancient Greek scholar Eratosthenes accurately measured the size of the earth using geometry and reason. I know that the speed of light was first measured in 1676 by Ole Romer. He used nothing more than a telescope, knowledge imparted by Copernicus, Kepler, and Galileo, and reason.

Reason, not belief has done a much expose the mysteries of the universe. Reason does not tell us that there is a god. It doesn’t tell us that there isn’t a god, either. It does make me question writings that are purported to be the literal word of god.

I choose not to believe. I accept those things that reason leads me to conclude. I accept that the earth is about four billion years old, based on the geological and astronomical evidence that I have seen, and understood. I accept the notion of biological evolution based on the fossil evidence as interpreted by professionals, who I trust to be reasonable people.

I accept Darwin’s basic premise that we evolved from ancestors that we share, most recently, with the great apes. I have heard advocates of “creation science” claim that Darwin’s theory has been disproved. This is not a reasonable claim. I acknowledge that flaws have appeared in Darwin’s theory over the years, as the fossil record has been more thoroughly explored. It now seems that evolution occurred in spurts, not gradually, as Darwin proposed.
