I remember in Pre-Calculus, my teacher told us to make sure we were using capital or lowercase letters in our trig identities correctly. There was a difference between:

cos(Θ)=a/h

and

Cos(Θ)=a/h

I don't remember what the difference in solving the problem was.

I would appreciate your help!

The math problem is:
The length of a rectangle is 3 more than twice its width. The perimeter is 48 feet. Find the width.
This is how you solve it:
L = 2W + 3
P = 2L + 2W = 48

2(2W + 3) + 2W = 48
4W + 6 +2W = 48
6W + 6 = 48
6W = 42
W = 7

I'm a little confused when it comes to this part...
2(2W + 3) + 2W = 48
^ i don't understand where you get this 2 from?

can someone please clarify this to me for 10 points =)

Thnk you
