Hey, this isn't homework I'm studying for my A-level exam in January and don't understand this type of question and can't ask my teacher because we're off school. I would use simultaneous equations but there's 3 unknown variables.

The curve with equation y=ax^2 + bx + c passes through the point (1,2). The gradient of the curve is zero (0) at the point (2,1). Find the values of a,b,c.

I'd appreciate it if you even told me HOW to go about it without necessarily providing an answer.

The cost of an adult ticket to a football game is $1.75. The cost of a student ticket is $ 1.25. Total receipts last week from ticket sales were $ 1700. If the number of students tickets sold was twice the number of adult tickets, how many of each type were sold?

Thank you for your help

Is this right? Or is there a better way to find co-ordinates? It was the only way I could think of to do it, since it has to form a square, ABCD.

A home-based company produces both hand-knitted scarves and sweaters. The scarves take 2 hours of labor to produce, and the sweaters take 14 hours. The labor available is limited to 40 hours per week, and the total production capacity is 5 items per week. Write a system of inequalities representing this situation, where x is the number of scarves and y is the number of sweaters.

Hi i have two equations and want to work out how to get from one to the other, but im abit stuck.

ANy help appreciated

zevB = mv2/r
(the two is a squared sign)

z, e, v, B, m, v, r are all variables (im doing mass spec equations)

i need to turn that equation into

m/z = r2B2e/2V

(here the r and B are squared, but the V is two V)

Thanks

Okaii, i know this sounds silly, but me and my friend are having a serious problem with like a grade 2 question.
So heres the thing:
Altogether we both had 22 chocolates.
I had the odd numbers(including 1) and she had the even.
But when she was suppose to eat the 22d, she gave it to me.
How many did we each have?
Now, logically you would think the ratio is 10:12 but wouldn't that mean that i had TWO more then her? Because the difference between 12 and 10 is 2. But i only had one extra. If i hadn't ate one more, we'd have had the exact same amount. So that would mean i had one more.
But what every one is telling us is that i had 12. LIKE I SAID! THAT WOULD MEAN I HAD TWO MORE!
Wtf! This is a serious question as silly as it sounds, so please answer seriously.
Thanks!
