Hi i have two equations and want to work out how to get from one to the other, but im abit stuck.

ANy help appreciated

zevB = mv2/r
(the two is a squared sign)

z, e, v, B, m, v, r are all variables (im doing mass spec equations)

i need to turn that equation into

m/z = r2B2e/2V

(here the r and B are squared, but the V is two V)

Thanks

zevB = mv²/r

Remember The LEFT HAND SIDE {LHS}Always Must Equal RIGHT HAND SIDE {RHS}
So whatever you do to one side to 'get rid' of a term you MUST do to the other side

So to leave 'm' alone on RHS
You divide both sides by v² and at the same time multiply by 'r'

So

zevBr / v² = m

Then dividing both sides by 'z'

RHS = m/z
LHS = evBr/v²

By rearranging
m/z = eBr/v

So with the evidence of these steps the problem you posed cannot be solved to give the arrangement that you expected!!!! -
Hope this helps :-)

zevB = mv^2/r
rzevB=mv^2
rzevB/(v^2)=m
rzeB/(v)=m
reB/(v)=m/z

for the equation you started with, there should be no squared terms. You must have the wrong starting point, or the wrong expected answer

this is not a math related question its a physics question
you cannot rearrange and get it but you have to substitute for something

z e v B = m v ² / r
r e v B = m v ² / z
r e B / v = m / z
2 r e B / 2v = m / z

u can do it only if rB=2.
