Number of adult ticket = x
Number of student ticket = y

1.75x+1.25y = 1700
y=2x

1.75x+1.25(2x)=1700
1.75x+2.5x=1700
4.25x=1700
x=400
y=800

number of adult tickets = 400
number of student tickets =800

letno. of tickets sold for adults is x
thn no. of tickets sold for students is 2x
now,
total revenue is 1700
and revenue generated by adult ticket is 1.75x
and revenue genetated by students ticket is 1.25(2x)=2.5x
therefore
1.75x + 2.5x = 1700
4.25x=1700
x=1700/4.25
x=400
now no. of adult ticket is 400 and no. of student ticket is 800

supose x is the number of adult tickets.Then 2x is the number of student tickrts.
1.75x+1.25(2x)=1.75 x+2.5x=4.25x
4.25=1700 so x=1700/4.25=400 and then 2x=800

Let n = the number of adults.
1.75n + 1.25(2n)=1700
1.75n + 2.50n = 1700
4.25n = 1700
n=400

400 Adults and 800 students.
