Problem: x=[(√y)(y-3)]/3

I am finding the definite integral from 1 to 4.

I believe I need to integrate with respect to y using the equation:

s=∫√{1+[g'(y)]²}

I started by taking the derivative of the original equation x=[(√y)(y-3)]/3 to find g'(y).

I came up with [(√y)/3] + [(y-3)/(2√y)]

Then I squared that quantity to equal...

[(√y)/3] + [(y-3)/3]+[(y-3)(y-3)]/4y

and after much algebra to simplify and combine...

[25y² - 60y + 81]/36y

I am stuck here, and am not even sure if my algebra is correct... any help please?

Please show all steps... Thanks in advance.

given that h(x): x^2-4/x+2 @ x<-2
and : -4 @ x=-2
and : -2+x @ -2 Determine which of the following statements is true with regard to the continuity of h(x) at the point x = -2.
h(x) is continuous
h(x) has jump discontinuity
h(x) has a removable discontinuity
h(x) has infinite discontinuity
None of the above(this is what i believe the answer to be)

I'm usually a pro at these. But there is a detail at the end and I'm not sure how to write the equation around it. I already figured out the answer but I want a "prettier" equation.

Truck leaves town A at 2 p.m. heading for town B, traveling at 40 mi/h. At 3:15 car leaves town B heading to town A traveling at 55 mi/h. (Easy) But then it says - the truck and car pass when the car is 2 hours from town A. How far apart are the towns?

40t = 55(t - 1.25) gets me nowhere.

I know 2 hours represents 110 miles left in the car's journey. The answer is 192.5 miles because I just gridded the problem out. Any takers?

any tips would be great.

1. antideriv of x(4thrt(1-x^2))dx
i got -2/5(1-x^2)^((5/4))+c but the book says it should be ^(5/2)

2. antideriv of (sin(x/3))^5(cos(x/3))dx
i got -1/6(sinx/3)^6+c but that book says its 1/2 in the front

3. antideriv of sec(x+pi/2)tan(x+pi/2)dx
i got cos(x+pi/2)+c but the book says its secant

4. antideriv of (sin(2x+1))/(cos(2x+1))^2dx
i got cos(2x+1)^-1 but the book says there is a 1/2 in front

5. antideriv of (sqrt(cotx))(cscx)^2dx
couldnt get much anywhere in this one

6. antideriv of (1/x^2)sin(1/x)cos(1/x)dx
i think this one is all wrong cuz i got -sin(1/x)+c and the book has it sqrd and times 1/2

7. antideriv of (x^3)(sqrt(x^2+1))
i dont know where to start because what i thought would be u is not able to be because of the x^3... its one x too big!!

The curve traced out by a point at a distance 1 m from the center of a circle of radius 2 m as the circle rolls along the x-axis is called a trochoid and has parametric equations:
x=2θ-sinθ y=2-cosθ
One arch of the trochoid is given by the parameter interval 0≤θ≤2π. Find the area under one arch of the trochoid.
