Solve for x.

(x + 1)²(x - 2) + (x + 1)(x - 2)² = 0
(x + 1)(x - 2)[(x + 1) + (x - 2)] = 0
(x + 1)(x - 2)[2x - 1] = 0

x = -1, 1/2, 2

If x is -1 or 2, then everything will be zero.

Notice that (-1 + 1) = 0
and (2 - 2) = 0, no matter if you square it or not too.
