Does waiting to recharge a battery (cell-phone, laptop, etc...)untill it's charge is fully depleted, or almost fully depleted have any affect, beneficial or detrimental, on the battery's length of overall life or it's ability to hold a charge? Compared to recharging whenever convenient, such as overnight even if not necessary.

x+5 + 2x-1 (2x is on the bottom of x+5, and 4x is on the bottom of 2x-1. In other words, they are the denomenators)

These are suppose to be treated as if they are fractions,
by finding the largest common denomenator,
and then cross multipication, reducing and all of that. Still, either
my algebraic math is wrong, or something
else is wrong. Please help me solve this monster. Thank you very much.

I'm really new to the microcontrollers, i barely know anything. I would like to use them for some of my hobby projet but i don't know which one to choose!!! there are like millions of them out there!!! lets see PIC,ARM,8015... and so one. Ihave been doing some reasearch and i found all of the mto be prety much the same. I'm looking for a fast microcontroller with lots of inputs/outputs more that 30. I also would like to use these inputs/outputs as digital or analog. it would be nice if it could send data back to pc, throught serial/usb/com ports.

another thing, how are they programmed? What language r they most compatible with? I know c++ somewhat so that would be great.

once again i'm trying to get started with microcontrollers so any help would be apreciated.
thanks, dmitry

I have a 12 foot long 6"x6" beam made out of pressure treated lumber (pine I think). It is supported by concrete on each end. Is there a formula to figure out how much weight it is rated to support if the weight is distributed evenly?

Also, if I added an addional concrete support in the center, would that double the beam's support rating? Or would it increase it by a factor greater than two?

Thanks.

I have to do a science project that is similar to mouse trap- an action triggers another and so on, until the end, where I have to pop a balloon. I'm running out of ideas!! help! Requirements: 1. pop a balloon at the end of the trial 2. 4 energy forms must be used throughout project (mechanical- hitting things to tip them over etc) (electromagnetical- friction etc) (thermal- using heat to trigger an action) (electrical- idk what to do here!) whoever is most helpful will get 10 points, and please don't post any rude answers about "do your own science project". Ideas so far: marble rolling down a tube, which hits a dixie cup filled with water, pouring the water onto a paper towel with a golf ball sitting on it (water causes paper towel to tear), golf ball falls in a cup, which triggers a pully thing...ideas after pully? thanks!!!!!!!!!
