I am working on a renovation to an existing Federal Courthouse that include the installation of a new fire alarm system. The spray-on fireproofing contains ACM so the cost of spot abatement for thousands of FA hangers may exceed the project's budget. It seems that NEC 300-11 requires that the conduit and JBs be independently supported to the building's structure. The existing ceiling is a plaster on lathe on black iron grid that has wire hangers to the structure. The thought was that the conduit could be run caddy-clipped to the black iron with the thought that if there is ever a full renovation of the space that the ceiling and fire alarm system on that floor would be replaced and spray-on fully abated. Bascially, the government is not willing to indemnify the engineer to go against NEC 300-11 so the engineer won't design it this way even though the government does not necessarily need to follow any codes. Is there any other specific codes that would allow for the black iron install?

If just using gravity and air pressure then a series of hydroram pumps could supply all the electricity as well as compressed air and/or vacuum for the entire worlds populace! But greed prevents this from happening! We could pump sea water to resevoirs high in the mountains and at peak demand let it flow back to the sea and make power for all to use!

Im an ex-navy engineer and my 2 other friends are both car engineers. I kind of have an idea of engines, but the other two guys are going to do the critical thinking part. We came to a halt when we realized we had no idea of how to convert a toyota corolla to run on vegetable oil. I researched, and most conversion package are only for diesel powered engines, but found none for unleaded fuels. so I need help, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would like to see how the depositry works and how their buildings are constructed to prevent theft. If in theory, the army was not there, and the buildings were left for themselves, how would they work to ward off foreign invaders (terrorists, perhaps?). Mainly, the answer I am hoping to get is either a link to a site where I can get blueprints of the structure or information on how I can get it.
Thanks.
